In this neuroscience-based workshop, Dr Clara Seeger will introduce mindfulness as a way of cultivating the inner prerequisites of mental wellbeing by establishing a new baseline of mental balance and health.
In her talk, Clara will outline some of the mechanisms and benefits of mindfulness as evidenced by neuroscience research. The workshop will be interactive and experiential, allowing time for reflection, discussion and guided meditation practice.

The very notion of wellbeing is inextricably linked to the state of our minds. Yet there is no firm boundary between mental health and mental disease. Is the absence of a diagnosed mental illness enough to qualify us as mentally healthy? I would argue that we could all do with higher degrees of mental health which is a function of a balanced mind.
In this workshop I will explain the imbalances our mind is prone to in these four areas and offer a taster of how meditation can help us cultivate greater mental balance and wellbeing.
